Immigrating and taking all the best parts with you with Anthea Taljaard

Anthea Taljaard was born, raised, and lived most of her life in South Africa as a successful woman in business before a personal tragedy led her to take a role in education in Saudi Arabia. Four years later, it would be personal happiness –in the form of meeting her Canadian wife– that would take her to Nova Scotia, where she fused her love of art with her business background to create Salt Spray Design.

Anthea’s sculptures are each filled with personal meaning, and in her recent book, Soul Decor, she helps readers select the objects in their homes intentionally, so as to highlight who they are and not end up with a pretty home that could belong to anyone.
